Generative Design / Immersive Installation / Identity and Web Design
Light Music is a hypothetical exhibition featuring the artist Brian Eno, presented by OCMA. Through creative coding, I have developed a generative typography that offers an immersive experience to the audience. The sound-reactive typography introduces a dynamic element to the visual aspect of the exhibition. This interactive installation serves as a central space for the audience to engage with the ever-changing visuals and ambient music. Inspired by Brian Eno’s generative music, known for its perpetual evolution through a system, I undertook the challenge of generating my own sound elements. Utilizing Ableton Live, a MIDI software, in combination with creative coding, I achieved generating real-time ambient sounds while the audience interacts with the installation.

Generative Typography
EnoLight is a generative typeface created using Processing. The design for the typeface was inspired by Brian Eno’s work, resulting in a trypeface that glows and reats to the rhythm of the music.
Interactive Installation
An interactive projection-based installation was create for the exhibition, involves audiences to immerse in the ambient music and visuals.
Using Kinect motion sensing technology, the generative visuals in the installation respond to the audience, generating ambient sounds as people interact with each typographic element.
Generative Type Software
Special software was developed, allowing audiences to input their own messages in the generative typeface and generate their own ambient sounds on the exhibition website.
Poster
A series of posters were created using the custom type. The gradient backgrounds resulted from generative design.
By utilizing Processing, I was able to generate various gradient patterns using a curated color palette and specific ratios.
